EDC Bag Dumps

Comet tanner

Reddit user, Comet_tanner, posted his personal carry, and it's a fine set of items he has, isn't it. The Spyderco Slysz Bowie is an excellent knife for just about any personal carry, the Field Notes Journal and Koh-I-Noor Leadholder add a tasteful touch.

We love the Minnesota Leatherworks card holder. It's a great way to make a lasting impression.

EDC Bag Dump

Systems Administrators, and those in IT in general are pretty fascinating people when it comes to EDC Bag Dumps (I should know, I'm one of them). Some are equipped to the gills, while others like to keep it simple. mrh3llman from Reddit appears to be of the latter crowd. His Bag Dump contains just enough to be purposeful, yet not enough to be an inconvenience or overloading.

Jeremy is one of those people that likes a certain style, and we'd have to say that he's got really good taste in everyday carry. The Ti2 Sentenel S4S caught our eye initally, but the Hinderer XM-18 is really nice! Even the Prometheus Writes is a beauty. I think we're done here. Excellent dump.

metamonology laid out his everyday carry and it's very nice. Armed with a Moleskine Notebook and Ball Point Pen, he's ready to jot down any note that comes his way. The phone and wallet are essentials and of course, keys to get into the house. It all adds up to be a very nice everyday carry.

EDC Bag Dump

Everyday Carry: RogerAgne
Everyone likes a well laid out EDC bag dump, and Roger definitely has that. His Everyday carry has just about everything a guy needs to stay mobile for the whole day. There's an excellent balance of tech to analog - The Asus Transformer to Sketchbooks.

Tony has a simple but functional everyday carry. I have stood by the Streamlight Microstream as the EDC flashlight of choice for myself, and love to see it in other pocket and bag dumps. I love the long throw and durability that the microstream has to offer. The Spyderco Grasshopper knife is also an excellent choice when you just need a good blade. This EDC Knife strong and durable, but also slim enough to hardly notice it's there.

Bill took the time to lay out a really nice everyday carry dump for us to check out. First thing we noticed was the 3M Littman stethoscope and the Scalpel blade... Hope he doesn't have a huge freezer with body parts at home! LOL.  Seriously, though. It's a really nice dump, organized chaotic arrangement that just appeals!

OK. Mark had us with the keychain Sriracha Hot Sauce Keychain. It's my favorite and goes on just about anything. Gotta get one of those. Besides for that, we love the CRKT Knife, Space pen and just the overall layout of this everyday carry bag dump. Very nice!

Everyday Carry is just that. Every damn day, and Leif takes those words to heart. Carrying his Gerber, Casio and Ray Bans, he says:

"This is what I keep on me everyday, aside from the hank, which changes daily. As an electrician, I'm very hard on watches, so I look for tough cheap time pieces that I can beat up. The Gerber is great because you can switch the blade out when it gets dull. I've spent years trying to perfect the economy of my personal effects, and am always on the look out for even simpler ways to carry!"

We love seeing a no nonsense Everyday Carry from time to time. From the maxpedition wallet to the Kershaw knife, this edc dump is all business. Even the Gerber Dime is there for a reason. Michael says "What I would consider my first true EDC carry...minus one or two items." but we say it's perfect if you have a job that needs to get done.

on location bag dump 1600

Working on location today from a server room somewhere in Mid-Michigan. I was not allowed to bring in the full backpack because it didn't meet the company's security requirements (too large - could steal stuff easily was their concern), so I threw some of the stuff into my daypack and left the backpack in the car. I'll be here for about seven hours today, so this is the gear I have at my disposal.

  • Packable Backpacks For Traveling And Everyday Carry

thumb AmazonBasics Ultralight Packable Day Pack Backpack 1I've carried a packable backpack in my main Kenneth Cole reaction (work) backpack for years. The actual packable backpack has changed from time to time, but there's always one in the backpack. Having a secondary backpack has come in handy many times over the years, and it's one of the first things that I check for when I do a bag inventory to make sure I have what I need in my Everyday Carry.

Packable backpack are usually very light, and when packed up, don't take much space. Often, I'll use mine when I'm going to lunch, or to an off site client meeting and I don't need to carry the whole main bag (it's 20lbs). This list of packable backpacks are some of the best that you could have in your EDC in case you need more hauling capacity.

  • How To Make Coffee At Your Desk with a Sterno Stove

thumb I used a sterno stove to make coffeeI have the benefit of being able to work from home a lot of the time. Tonight is one of those nights, and I decided that I wanted a bit of coffee to help keep me going while I worked. Now, depending on how flexible your work environment is, you may even be able to make coffee at your desk like I'm doing tonight, but you might want to save this for when you're at home and no one can tell what to do.

  • Do You Need An RFID Blocking Wallet, Or Is It Not Necessary?

thumb do i need an rfid blocking walletEver since RFID blocking wallets came out, people have been wondering "Do I really need an RFID wallet?" Here's the thing. In the good old USA, most credit cards, IDs and other cards don't have RFID yet, and beyond that, "Skimming" information from an RFID card, the hacker (if you will) would need to have a reader inches away from the card. The fact is that if you don't have any RFID chips in your cards (not to be confused with the chip cards with the smartchip embedded) then you don't have anything to worry about and having an RFID wallet is not necessary. If for some reason you do have an RFID card, the hacker would have to get uncomforatably close to you in order to get a read on the card. All else failing, it would be possible to place an RFID reader under a chair that you sit on, bringing the skimmer within range, but again, other than security companies showing all of us that it's possible and scaring the masses, this really hasn't been an issue in the US at all, partly due to the slow inception of RFID technology.

  • Corsair Stealth Survivor USB Drives And USB Drive Encryption

Corsair Survivor USB Drive Kid TestedAwhile back, I happened to get ahold of a Corsair Stealth Survivor USB Drive.

It was an impulse purchase, but what tech geek (like me) could pass up a really cool USB drive like this? After a three months of hard use, a couple run ins with my niece using it for a teething toy, and dropping it from twenty feet, it still works 100%.

    What an excellent investment!

  • What To Put In Your Winter Survival Kit For Your Car

winter survival kit for your carIt's gotten really cold here in Michigan over the past couple weeks. It feels like I just got done raking leaves. Now I'm putting together my winter survival kit for my car, and I realized that it's time for my 2017 Winter vehicle survival kit blog post. I've written a couple of these types of posts before, but this time, we'll take a look at the things that you might want to have in your car in case of emergencies, getting stranded, or breaking down on the road as you travel these holidays.
