The Everyday Carry is all about what you carry everyday. Everyday Carry is EDC for short and consists of the items that you normally carry at any given time throughout your day. These might be normal everyday objects such as a wallet, keys and phone, but also can include flashlights, multitools, knives and other things that can make getting through the day easier and better. For some of us, an extra packet or two of instant coffee we can drop into hot water when we need a pickup might be an everyday carry item, while a chef might carry a melon baller. There's no such thing as the best everyday carry for every individual, but you can customize your EDC to meet your personal needs and lifestyle.

What's In The Baaaaaag??? I would have put a gratitious Brad Pit Meme here if I'd had the space, but FML. Check out what other people are carrying everyday to get ideas and comment!

Systems Administrators, and those in IT in general are pretty fascinating people when it comes to EDC Bag Dumps (I should know, I'm one of them). Some are equipped to the gills, while others like to keep it simple. mrh3llman from Reddit appears to be of the latter crowd. His Bag Dump contains just enough to be purposeful, yet not enough to be an inconvenience or overloading.

Jeremy is one of those people that likes a certain style, and we'd have to say that he's got really good taste in everyday carry. The Ti2 Sentenel S4S caught our eye initally, but the Hinderer XM-18 is really nice! Even the Prometheus Writes is a beauty. I think we're done here. Excellent dump.

metamonology laid out his everyday carry and it's very nice. Armed with a Moleskine Notebook and Ball Point Pen, he's ready to jot down any note that comes his way. The phone and wallet are essentials and of course, keys to get into the house. It all adds up to be a very nice everyday carry.

Everyday Carry: RogerAgne
Everyone likes a well laid out EDC bag dump, and Roger definitely has that. His Everyday carry has just about everything a guy needs to stay mobile for the whole day. There's an excellent balance of tech to analog - The Asus Transformer to Sketchbooks.

Tony has a simple but functional everyday carry. I have stood by the Streamlight Microstream as the EDC flashlight of choice for myself, and love to see it in other pocket and bag dumps. I love the long throw and durability that the microstream has to offer. The Spyderco Grasshopper knife is also an excellent choice when you just need a good blade. This EDC Knife strong and durable, but also slim enough to hardly notice it's there.

Most of us like imagine how easy it will be to navigate through the zombie apocalypse without a care in the world. However a real life zombie apocalypse would leave us all crying for our momma’s (just as long as she’s not trying to eat your face off). So we’ve come up with real life ways in how the zombie apocalypse would absolutely suck as well as some simple items that you can get today that would make the ordeal a lot less…sucky. Of course over at Escape From Zombies we tend to get advice that is a bit different than the normal zombie survival guide does.
So the lights are going to go out, the fresh food is going to run out, the water could be tainted, and that’s just within the first few months…oh don’t forget about winter coming up. Want some good news? Here it is. You have time to prepare for all of this! You can be ready when it happens and survive the zombie apocalypse.

Someone asked me the question today, "What's Everyday Carry?" As usual, my answer was short and sweet: "Its the stuff that you carry around everyday either out of necessity, or to make life better." They looked perplexed for a moment, looking at my EDC bag and everything dumped out and sorted on the desk at work. "Why are there all these things? Do you always carry them? Why?" The short answer that I gave him was "Because these are the things that I either regularly need or want with me every day." Sure, the answer was simple enough. He shrugged and turned away, but for the rest of the day, I was sitting there wondering why it is that we carry these things every day -- especially for a guy like me that just a year ago, never gave a second thought to everyday carry, or what I have with me.

Having sure fire, even in the pouring rain is extremely important. Smokers will vouch for that statement! I have thankfully never needed to start a fire for survival purposes, but know that my lighter will work even under the most rainy conditions is something I thankfully don't have to worry about. The Exotec Firesleeve, found on Huckleberry is perfect for any everyday carry where you want to make sure that you have sure fire. From putting one in the bugout bag (if you have one), or in the car to just keeping one on you in your backpack means that you'll be able to get a light when you need it.
The Firesleeve fully encases a cheap $1 bic lighter (that's ultra reliable, by the way), in an airtight, waterproof sleeve so that it's ready to use when you need it. The waterproof sleeve fits the standard size Bic Classic Lighters perfectly and actually does keep water and moisture out!

The Maxpedition EDC Pocket Organizer is perfect for those who prefer to optimize their everyday carry by only carrying what's needed for that moment.
There's nothing better than having all your everyday carry items organized and stashed neatly away. In a previous post, I illustrated my Coghlan's three bag EDC system that I currently use because I do carry a lot of stuff, but for those of you that don't like to carry everything, check out the pocket organizer for a single, go to place for all your edc items.

Packing a Portable USB Phone Charger in my Everyday Carry proves to be useful more than just a few times a week. For me, I don't know how I could get through the day without one. Funny thing is, it isn't just my phone that I charge. Portable USB Chargers charge just about anything that charges from a standard USB plug, and besides newer smartphones, I charge my AA and AAA batteries, Vape, run a USB LED light and yes, charge my Hubsan X4 H107C drone batteries! Currently, I have three "on the go" soruces to charge from: Two 2200mAH portables and any one of my three laptops that I have with me at any given time (All have sleep and charge USB ports). I just ordered two Anker Powercore 20100mAH portables as well for my tablet and whatever else needs charging.

It all begins with thinking about the things you carry every day already. Chances are you grab keys, phone, wallet and maybe a watch on your way out the door. Everyone has things that they carry every day, it's just that most people don't think about it because it has become a habit.
Now, Consider the things that you might want to have with you at all times. Snacks, Flashlight and Pocket Knives or Multi-tools are some of the most common. These are things that at any given moment during the day, you stop and think "If I had that, it would be easier...".
Next, Think about the place you'll want to put your stuff. An EDC Bag is nothing more than carry-all that fits your individual personality, style and carrying capabilities. Some people carry backpacks while others prefer messenger bags, and then there's those who prefer belt pouches just to carry the essentials. Whatever your style, it all begins with a bag or pouch to carry your EDC.The Everyday Carry caters to Preppers and Individuals that have an interest in Everyday Carry. This is not a Survivalist or Disaster Preparedness website. If you are interested in what to carry everyday to make your (and your family's) life better, than this is the correct place to be. An Everyday Carry is simply the items that you carry everyday, and there is a general interest in what others carry in their backpacks, messenger bags, tactical pouches and on their person.
Share what you carry every day with others to give ideas and help them become better prepared for everyday life.
